Check before you travel this Friday

West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway are advising passengers to check before they travel today ( Friday 26 July).

Network Rail has been working hard overnight to repair damage caused by yesterday's extreme weather. However some work is still on going and many trains are starting the day out of place. This will result in some cancellations and shorter trains on some services during the day.

Early morning services have been cancelled or adjusted particularly those on the CrossCity line and also some services to/from Rugeley/Crewe and Birmingham. Shorter trains will be running all day on most routes but especially on the CrossCity line.

There will be cancellations of services between Worcester/Kidderminster and Dorridge/Whitlocks End via Birmingham Snow Hill.

Speed restrictions remain in place in the Duddeston area.

Passengers are reminded to check the National Rail Enquiries or West Midlands Railway/London Northwestern Railway websites before they travel.

Passengers who decided not to travel yesterday will be able to use their tickets today . The two train operators are also encouraging anyone whose journey was delayed by 15 minutes or more to claim delay repay compensation.
