Press release -
London Northwestern Railway: Passengers urged to check train times ahead of timetable change
Passengers are being urged to check their train times ahead of a new railway timetable coming into effect later this month.
As part of the twice-yearly national timetable change which comes into effect on Sunday 21 May, London Northwestern Railway will be making a number of changes to its services.
These include:
- Following customer feedback, two additional services to London Euston will now call at Bushey on weekday mornings
- Sunday train times will change at all stations on the Abbey Line between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey
- The 5.56pm weekday departure from London Euston to Northampton will be formed of 12 carriages instead of eight currently
Additionally, customers are being reminded that First Class accommodation will be withdrawn from all London Northwestern Railway services from Sunday 21 May. The change has been made in response to changing customer demand and will provide an extra 4.7 million seats for everybody at a time when LNR is welcoming more customers back to the railway.
Jonny Wiseman, LNR customer experience director, said: “Timetables will be changing all across the country on Sunday 21 May so I urge our customers to check their train times to make sure they don’t get left behind.
“We’ll also be removing First Class accommodation from our services due to changing customer demand, so any passengers holding First Class tickets for journeys after 21 May should visit their local ticket office for a full refund.”
